Festival Days

We celebrate the seasons of the earth with four festival days (End of Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring) full of music, dancing, crafts, challenges and games! Each festival day starts with a morning music circle after which our different age groups break off for a short day together. We gather again for a potluck lunch followed by a free flow between various craft/art/skill stations facilitated by teachers, parents or students.

Arts & Crafts

Activities such as engineering challenges, weaving, making fairies, punching tin candle holders, natural dying, tye-dying, gardening, beading, making natural ink, making chai, canning, felting, rope making, candle making, bow drilling, clay sculpture, paper making, story telling, square-dancing, spear throwing, reptile and arachnid experiences and flower printing have all been offered by teachers, parents and even students at festival days.

Potluck

Our four festival days are wonderful opportunities for families to share fun and food. Families love bringing and presenting dishes, and everyone enjoys eating! There is always a feeling of excitement in the air as we sit down to eat or mill about in the seasonal weather, celebrating and taking in the cyclical changes our world experiences as another year passes. We provide a card for each dish to be filled out to describe any possible allergens to help everyone make healthy choices.
